What does the Club Offer?

'Ask not what the club can do for you, but what can you do for the club!'

The club has between 150 and 200 members with individuals as far afield as Australia, USA, France and Holland. Despite the cars being 2 + 2 it is a family club with many attending caravan and camping weekend, weeks or trips. Yes, Spartans tow very well.

Magazine - SPARTACUS

This magazine is now in its 33rd year (2011)! Currently 4 editions a year (possibly more if you contribute!). Click here to view the January to March 2010 edition. Free adverts for club members - both for sale and wanted. In addition there is a Hints and Tips manual which is a compilation of 25 years contributions available to members for the cost of printing and postage. (cheap)

Interactive Yahoo Groups site

This is for members only and has several databases with cars for sale and wanted, parts for sale and wanted, hints and tips files, pictures from memebers, links to website members find useful, a chat area and a group mailing system. More recent applications (still on Yahoo beta test are places showing map of event locations. You can add to this or even put on you local meets, birthdays, how to instructions, people map of club members, questions and answers, for sale or swap, and rate my pics. All these require you to add your bit to make it interesting for all the rest.

Members need to e-mail webmaster@spartan-oc.co.uk with Name, address and membership number asking for an invite.

Public Liability Insurance

For fully paid up members of the Spartan Owners Club there is £5 million public liability cover when you are representing the club at an event. At the time of the event and to represent the club you would need to be a fully paid up member of the Spartan Owners Club, print some membership application forms from this website and have them available to the public. In addition, have the club logo (sticker in the windscreen) or Spartacus in sight but secure from people thinking it was a sample.

For our members who are not on-line, a pullout form will be printed in the 10/2011 edition of Spartacus.

Local Organizers

Make this as active as you wish. We have local groups scattered over the British Isles, if there is not one near you why not start one. We advertise it free, usually decide on a local pub and who's averse to a few beers?

Events

The club has a full events calendar ranging from shows such as Stonleigh and Newark and rallies, Locations are varied and members are encouraged to suggest sites and participate in organization.

Insurance

Most specialist Kit Car insurers now offer up to 10% discount for members of the club. This more than repays you the cost of membership for the year! At the base of the page are a list of Insurers who value your custom enough to pay to advertise in each edition of Spartacus.

From members who specialize in either the Triumph based kit or the Ford based kits.
